OG Anunoby is a multi-level defender who has been a great pillar of support for the revamping Toronto Raptors. Since their championship triumph, the Raptors haven’t been able to stamp their authority yet OG Anunoby is one of those players who have given their all for the success of this team.
The spoken-off two-way forward has been averaging 16.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game for Toronto Raptors in the 2022-23 season. However, ahead of the 2023 trade deadline day, there have been many speculations on how OG Anunoby wants to move out of this team.
It seems as though part of the reason OG Anunoby is on the trade market is that he might not be content with the Raptors. But is that really a player who might make a move before the deadline?
A recent report from Ric Bucher of Fox Sports revealed that OG Anunoby is unhappy in Toronto, with it being noted that GM Masai Ujiri often moves “swiftly” when a player wants to leave for another team. He said, “League sources say that Anunoby isn’t happy in Toronto, and although the reason was not made clear, Ujiri has a track record of moving swiftly if a player wants to be elsewhere.”
The Pelicans are one team that can be a perfect landing spot for OG Anunoby. Given that OG can be a huge defensive boost for a team who is dynamically wanting to chase the NBA Championship on the backs of Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. That being said, let’s wait to witness if there are any reality clouds surrounding this trade speculation.
