NBA reporter Marcus Hayes broke down all that took place between Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Philadelphia 76ers staff over “laddergate.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most relevant faces in the NBA at the moment, and the Milwaukee Bucks star continues to find himself in the news – albeit for the wrong reasons of late. The 2021 NBA champion and two-time MVP has found himself in the negative spotlight after his involvement in “ladder gate.”
The Milwaukee Bucks superstar had a disappointment of a night as he made only four out of his 15 attempted free throws against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night. The Greek Freak had a dire night from the free throw line as he could not help the Bucks go down to the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
Exasperated by his bad shooting form, Giannis did not want to waste any time as he got to shooting free throws immediately following the game. However, it was when the Wells Fargo Center staff disrupted him that Giannis’ frustration seeped through – and he was caught forcibly throwing a ladder off the court on footage.
While many in the basketball community have already given their two cents on the incident, NBA reporter Marcus Haynes has broken down what actually took place.
What has the NBA reporter revealed about “laddergate”?
Marcus Haynes has revealed what really went down in the incident.
Haynes took to his Twitter to post his revelations about the incident. The reporter revealed an important detail that opposing teams are supposed to ask for postgame court access, which is rare – and it turns out that Giannis and the Bucks did not ask. Haynes also revealed that the Sixers had a big, post-game event planned.
Haynes also revealed that Giannis’ frustration escalated when he missed two of his free throws post-game and the crowd got on his case – which aggravated Giannis. Haynes gave his opinion that though he feels Giannis is a “good dude”, there is no way Giannis should have touched the ladder.
