The New Orleans Pelicans have defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in what was a big game for both teams’ playoffs aspirations.
Lakers were up by 20 in the first half but the New Orleans Pelicans fought their way back in the game and eventually won it by the score of 116-108.
This win could have a huge impact on how things shake-up for the play-in tournament as the Pelicans move to 9th seed while the Lakers fall to the 10th seed, with the San Antonio Spurs closing up on both of them.
Brandon Ingram on his return to the lineup from injury, led the way for the New Orleans Pelicans as he dropped 26 points which were crucial for the win.
Trey Murphy also scored 21 points as his performance changed the game. It tilted the momentum towards the New Orleans Pelicans in the 3rd quarter.
The Pelicans are now in a good spot to compete in the play-in tournament as they look to pick up momentum in the remaining games.
LeBron James has been playing like an MVP throughout the season. He is once again at his best as he scored 39 points.
The Lakers were in complete command of the game till halftime but completely lost their way in the 2nd half. They just got outplayed which has made their journey a lot tougher in the coming weeks.
The Lakers now fall to the 10th seed and things are not looking bright for them. They have a very tough schedule packed up in front of them and will require a huge effort to make it to the playoffs this season.
