The draft is upon us and the New York Knicks are willing to give up assets in order to draft Jaden Ivey with the 4th overall pick.
The NBA Draft 2022 is not far away. We are expected to see multiple trades happening before the draft-night or on the draft night. The talent on the Draft board this year is immense, and all the top picks can turn out to be franchise-changing players.
A franchise that needs some change is the New York Knicks. They are in a dire need of a playmaking guard, who can score also. One player that checks those boxes in this year’s draft is Purdue’s, Jaden Ivey.
Ivey is projected to go at the 4th spot in the draft. Currently, the Sacramento Kings have the 4th pick for this year’s draft. According to Ian Begley, the Knicks are willing to offer multiple first-round picks, and assets if required to get the 4th pick from Sacramento.
The Knicks have their eyes set on Jaden Ivey, and he is the perfect fit for them as presently constructed. Moreover, Ivey has earlier shown his desire that he didn’t want to get drafted by the Kings, and that can play a part here.
If the Knicks are able to get the 4th draft pick and draft Jaden Ivey, that could certainly be a great move for them. He is the right player to play alongside RJ Barrett and Julius Randle.
He is made for a city like New York, and he can become a hero for them. Hopefully, the Knicks are able to get him, as it will be a good thing for the city of New York, which is craving to see an exciting player like Jaden Ivey.
The interest in Jaden Ivey is quite high. Everyone is aware that he is the only prospect that can be available for trade on the draft night. As a result, teams like the Washington Wizards, and Indiana Pacers are also interested in him.
The Wizards can pair up Ivey with Bradley Beal, and alongside Kyle Kuzma, and Kristaps Porzingis they can become a powerhouse for years to come. On the other hand, the Pacers can fasten up their rebuilding process by adding Ivey as he will be an elite player alongside Tyrese Haliburton.
It will be interesting to see where Ivey actually ends up. If the Sacramento Kings ultimately decide to trade the 4th pick, they can get some very good assets that will help them.
