After a tense situation involving Damar Hamlin, Shannon Sharpe writes on Twitter, “NFL doesn’t have a manual on how to proceed”
After receiving criticism from fans for his insulting tweet during Monday night’s game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, NFL analyst Skip Bayless was obliged to issue a grovelling apology. Damar Hamlin, a standout for the Bills, experienced a heart attack on the field and is still in serious condition and Shannon Sharpe seemed to respond to Bayless’ statement on Twitter shortly after the event.
Shannon Sharpe in his tweet said, ” Please keep Damar Hamlin and his family in your thoughts and prayers. NFL doesn’t have a manual on how to proceed after an incident like this.”
In the first quarter, the Bengals were up 7-3 and the game was finally called off and postponed. Additionally, Bayless queried how the NFL intended to handle the synchronization of the rescheduled game. Bayless immediately expressed regret over the post, stating: “Nothing is more important than that young man’s health. That was the point of my last tweet. I’m sorry if that was misunderstood but his health is all that matters.”
Damar Hamlin current condition
Hamlin was still in serious condition at the hospital as of Tuesday night. The Bills announced this earlier today: “Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals.”
The statement further said, “His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.”
Shannon Sharpe, who serves as Bayless’ co-host on “Undisputed”, was not available on Monday after Damar Hamlin suffered the cardiac arrest. One of the finest tight ends to ever play in the NFL, Sharpe is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
