NBA Insider Nick Wright and Colin Cowherd were in conversation over the 2 best players in the NBA. The Milwaukee Buck and Dallas Mavericks have these two players, considering their explosive 2022-23 season.
According to Nick Wright, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic have separated themselves from the players currently playing in the league. He chose Giannis over Luka to be the best player in the NBA. Nick feels that these two have the ability to carry a team single-handedly towards an NBA championship.
“Giannis and Luka have shown beyond a shadow of a doubt they are the two best players in the league. Giannis, one. Luka, two. Every other great player in this league, either this year or the last few years, if their second-best guy isn’t there, the team struggles to win half its games.”
NBA Insider elaborates on his “2 best players in the NBA” argument, “LeBron (James) lost AD; team can’t win half its games. Steph (Curry), a couple of years ago, didn’t have Klay (Thompson), they missed the playoffs.”
Are Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo the 2 best players in the NBA, at the moment?
“(Nikola) Jokic, last year, didn’t have Jamal Murray. They’re the sixth seed. (Kevin) Durant, this year, Kyrie (Irving), when he was going sabbatical, they’re dead in the water.”
Nick further added, “Those two guys are at a different level. Our teams can be contenders, even without our second-best guy. And if you give me our second-best guy, we’ll probably win the whole damn thing.”
The Milwaukee Bucks are amongst the top 3 teams in the Eastern Conference. Whereas the Dallas Mavericks have a little work to do if they want to reach the NBA Finals. Many Analysts have sent indirect signals towards franchise owner Mark Cuban. They want him to get on the phone and get Luka Doncic some help before it turns too late.
The decision is tough with respect to the 2 best players in the NBA as the league still revolves around veterans like LeBron James, Kevon Durant, and Stephen Curry. On one hand, Giannis is an absolute beast defensively, on the other hand, Luka is just a flawless and dynamic scorer.
