Denver Nuggets Superstar Nikola Jokic got the All-star selection news from his wife while playing a Video game
NBA yearly gala event All-Star games are next month and many players look for their selections for such a prestigious game. Of course, commercial perks are attached with the selection, but importantly it stamps a player’s potential. Nikola Jokic is an exception for this thing though.
When the league announced NBA 2022 All-star starting lineups, Jokic was at home playing a video game. His wife, Natalija broke the news to him, he said, “Oh, bye bye.” Rather a neutral reaction for his 4th straight All-star game selection.
Jokic was 2nd highest voted Western Conference frontcourt player. LeBron James, who leads in all NBA votes, will captain the All-Star game once again. Starting lineups will be as follows for Western and Eastern Conferences,
Western Conference: Ja Morant, Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins, LeBron James, and Nikola Jokic
Eastern Conference: Trae Young, DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Joel Embiid
Reigning MVP is having a great season so far and currently leading the race for his 2nd KIA MVP award also. He is averaging 26 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
Nikola Jokic in All-Star games
This is Jokic’s 4th All-Star selection and 2nd consecutive starting place. The Serbian is rather passive in all-star games averaging 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in the previous 3 All-star games.
Ever so effective for the team, Jokic seems to enjoy playing for Nuggets more than I an All-Star game. He won his 10th player of the week award last season and played most games for the team. After his selection for the All-Star game, he might not get any rest in that period also.
Denver Nuggets megastar is yet to play on his home court in an All-Star game as the Nuggets arena held the last All-Star game back in 2005. This season All-Star games will be played at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio. The event is slated for February 18-20 and with the All-Star Game at 6 PM ET.
