“NOTHING LIKE IT” – Old footage of LeBron James playing high-school football proves he can play just about any sport

NBA Megastar LeBron James’ love for football is world-known and this time, he replied to a tweet of his old video from Northeast Ohio school days.

Bally sports Cleveland posted a tweet with old footage where LeBron James is seen playing football during his high school days. They tweeted it with the caption, “Nothing quite like high school football Fridays in Northeast Ohio.” LeBron James retweeted the same with “ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE IT!!.

The Lakers superstar was drafted in the NBA in the 2003 draft class with some elite names like Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, and Carmelo Anthony. The star from St. Vincent St. Mary high school was picked by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the draft.

Regarded as one of the greatest athletes ever, LeBron was also a brilliant high school-level football player. This proves that James could have ruled football just like basketball.

James played two seasons in high school football and was considered one of the best players ever in the history of Ohio. The coach of the football team thinks LeBron could have been one of the greatest football players ever.

LeBron James’ football career

LeBron is arguably the greatest ever to step on a basketball court but there are still talks, even after 20 years since LeBron played his last competitive football game, that what if he chose football over NBA?

The 4-time NBA champion scored impressive numbers in his 2-year high school football career. He received 23 touchdowns in his career and averaged better than 20 yards per reception during those times. 

LeBron ended with 103 catches, 2065 yards, and 23 touchdowns, 16 of which came in his junior year of high school.

The primary reason for quitting football was his love for basketball. He thinks he would have chosen the NFL if the quarterback was better during his high-school days.

James’s decision-making was poor as a quarterback, the same he is revealed in the show Manningcast. He also had a broken wrist that kept him away from playing in the year 2002.

LeBron said.”If I would have had a better quarterback in high school, I might have continued to play football.” He added, “I took way too many hits.
