Fully named Bennedict Richard Felder Mathurin, the Canadian professional is looking to establish some big highlights by his name in NBA.
The rookie who shined out of the Arizona Wildcats Basketball Program posted another eye-catching performance for his NBA side this past Saturday after securing another 20 points by his name. The rookie made it easier for the Pacers this weekend after coming off the bench when their shooting guard Buddy Hield only pulled out 6 points.
His 27 points mesmerizing performance also helped the side to take a win against the Detroit side, Mathurin has now indeed pulled his coach’s attention to be named in the starting 7’s. After coming off the bench for 31 minutes he secured 10-of-18 shooting. The Pacers would be now looking to make it to their second continuous victory when they face Philadelphia this Monday.
With back to back 20 points performances, Bennedict has now equalled Reggie Miller as the only Pacers Rookie to score 20+ points in consecutive games off benches.
Being a native of Montreal, the 6 feet 6 inches grew up in his childhood playing Ice Skating and Football. Later he entrusted to playing college basketball for Arizona, choosing it over Baylor. The North Pools soon named him as the best Canadian prospect for the future.
In 2021, Mathurin made his way into the Canada National side for the 2021 FIBA under-19 World Cup held in Riga and Daugavpils. In the bronze medal match, he scored 31 points to take a 101-92 victory over Serbia and secure a podium finish for the team.
The pacers then selected as the 6th overall pick Mathurin in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft and signed a rookie contract with them on July 3, 2022.
