Joel Embiid dropped one of his best performances in the 2022-23 season against the Denver Nuggets in the 2022-23 season. The Cameroonian International has dropped a double-double – 47 points and 18 rebounds against the two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, which left former player turned analyst Jalen Rose.
The spoken-off analyst hailed Joel Embiid for putting up a show against Nikola Jokic. Being two of the most skilled big men in the league, Rose was impressed by how Embiid led his Philadelphia 76ers to their 7th consecutive win against the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
Jalen said, “There’s a great opportunity in Philadelphia 76ers to make it to the conference finals. I appreciate Joel taking it personal and putting a smackdown against Nikola Jokic.”
Jalen Rose was impressed as Embiid finally showed his guts on the NBA hardwood against a player who has outraced him for the MVP honor. Embiid was runner-up to the Serbian in back-to-back MVP races and missed out on two All-NBA selections. “Troel” was last year’s scoring champ but it’s a small consolation to what he could have accomplished. Hopefully, this year, the Sixers’ main man could win the MVP honor.
That being said, with Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo also being in the race, it remains to be seen if Joel or Jokic could claim the No. 1 spot.
