Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse, a fellow NBA player, helped NCU reach the NCAA final four in 1995. The former was named in the All-American’s second-team, making him a huge prospect in the 1995 draft. The Washington Bullets selected him fourth overall in the first round. He went on to replace an injured Chris Webber, starting 51 games in his rookie season. Unfortunately, a fractured thumb saw him miss the final part of the campaign and he was traded to the Portland Trailblazers.
Wallace’s temper started to come to light during his time in Portland. He led the league in terms of technical fouls, receiving 51 fouls across 80 games in the 2000-01 season.

He was traded to the Atalanta Hawks in 2004 where he featured in just one game. Bizarrely he moved to Detroit where he played for four seasons, his most successful stint in the NBA.
The former center was a huge voice in the Detroit locker room right from the start. He scored 26 points and collected 13 rebounds and 2 assists in Game 4 of the 2004 NBA finals.
