Nikola Vucevic has been on the floor for the depleted Chicago Bulls side with full force and dedication in the 2022-3 season. While nothing has gone right for them since the inaugural week, the talismanic center was firm in revealing his true feelings after the Eastern Conference side registered a 3-game losing streak.
Their loss against OKC Thunder had the Bulls listed as favorite in every book, but the internal issues are seeming to take an upper hand over the team’s performance. Nikola Vucevic, too, was quick in acknowledging that he can’t understand what is to be done on the court with the pre-determined strategies.
Vucevic detailed what the environment has been like inside the Bulls’ locker room, especially with Billy Donovan and Zach LaVine’s rumored beef. Although he did drop an efficient tally of 19 points, Nikola had no excuses after the Bulls were blown out 124-110 against a young OKC Thunder side.
Nikola said as per The Athletic’s Darnell Mayberry, “The biggest thing I think for us is offensively at times we look like we really don’t know what to do. I know when (DeRozan’s) in the game he has the ball a lot and we depend on him a lot. But we still have a lot of weapons out there even without him. And we still have ways that we can score. At times, we got a little too stagnant. I think that’s what happened in the first half. We tried too hard to get something instead of working the defense, being patient.”
“I mean, the coaches, they talk about all the stuff you mentioned,” Vucevic added. “We know it’s a recurring problem for us. It’s kind of been an issue for us, the details, the little things that matter in the game. I can’t say that they haven’t put an emphasis on it. They do. And they do it every game. A lot of times, like with the long rebounds, we keep talking about it.
