Bradley Beal is one of the most demanded players in this year’s free agency, but it seems likely that he’ll sign an extension with the Wizards.
Bradley Beal, who was the subject of interest for many teams in free agency, is likely to stay in Washington, D.C. There have been rumors regarding him looking to join a contender like the Miami Heat or the Boston Celtics.
However, it seems like he’ll be staying loyal to the franchise that drafted him, and will sign a max extension with them. The Wizards added some good pieces around Beal to help him, and that would have played a part in his decision.
As per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, “Even if Beal simply re-signs with the Wizards, he can increase his 2022-23 salary to the projected max of $42.7 million. Beal is very likely to decline the option and re-sign with Washington on a five-year deal worth a projected $248 million that would take him through age 33.”
This will be a good deal for Bradley Beal. He’ll earn around a quarter of a billion while being the face of the franchise. He will hope to lead them to success, as he has some decent players around him now.
Many players have attempted to entice Bradley Beal to join their team. Everyone knows he’s a great player who can score at all three levels and can help a contending team to a championship run.
However, he was undecided about his future. He had said, “There is a little anxiety because I have to make the decision and time is counting down. We’re in June now. But it’s fun to be in this position.”
Beal added, “I know what my decision will be based off of, and that’s gonna be where I feel like I can win. That’s going to be my decision. If I feel like I can win in DC, that’s what I’m gonna do. I want people to respect that.”
Now the Washington Wizards can breathe a sigh of relief. The face of the franchise will be committed to them for the long run. Moreover, he will be determined to achieve success with them.
