One of the most renowned names in the NBA training fraternity, Rob McClanaghan was reportedly arrested on Friday.

Reports say that McClanaghan was charged with rape and was arrested from East Greenwich, Rhode Island, according to wcvb.com.

43-year-old McClanaghan is accused of drugging and raping a woman. Notably, the incident is said to have occurred in downtown Boston.

On Thursday, Boston Police conducted an investigation, and subsequently an arrest warrant was issued for McClanaghan.

Following the arrest warrant, on the following day, that is on Friday, McClanaghan was arrested. Reports suggest that McClanaghan resides in Warwick, Rhode Island.

As per wcvb.com reports, McClanaghan is to be arraigned in a Rhode Island court on Monday.

Rob McClanaghan is a famous name within the NBA community. As per McClanaghan’s website, he is said to have worked with several NBA stars. The client list of McClanaghan includes famous NBA stars such as Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James and Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry.

Further, McClanaghan’s client list also includes Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Derrick Rose.

Boston Celtics stay clear of the NBA trainer Rob McClanaghan drama

According to reports, the Boston Celtics have issued a statement regarding the arrest of Rob McClanaghan. The Celtics went on record and has said that McClanaghan is not affiliated with the Celtics team.

Reportedly, McClanaghan only worked with Celtics interim head coach Joe Mazzulla. This was during the time when McClanaghan and Joe Mazzulla worked at Bishop Hendricken High School.
