Home » NBA » Russell Westbrook appreciates Schroder and Bryant as the duo starts dropping valuable performances in Anthony Davis’s absence

Russell Westbrook has started adjusting to his role in the Los Angeles Lakers. The team has faced a lot of criticism as LeBron James has been seen shining in the purple and gold but his support seemed weak.

The Lakers missed LeBron James in their matchup against Denver Nuggets. Although Russell Westbrook tried to take the Lakers through towards a victory, unfortunately, they suffered 122-109 loss. Other than Westbrook, Dennis Schroder and Thomas Bryant have been in a spectacular form, especially in Laker’s 5 game-winning streak.

Westbrook has been there for his teammates and has been vocal about the contentment he feels when a brother on the court does well. He was questioned about how he felt watching Schroder and Bryant perform. He said, “Mean a lot, man. They are both talented players, they’ve proven themselves in this league.”

“Had some ups and downs in their careers but I think it’s great to see Dennis and Thomas and those guys do so well. It really just brings me a lot of joy to see them doing well consistently. It’s just great for our team.”

Mamba Mentality: Russell Westbrook fixed his dislocated mid-game

An incident that happened in Lakers’ game against Denver Nuggets reminded the fans of their Legend, Kobe Bryant. After the 122-109 loss, Westbrook disclosed that his right pinky finger in the middle of the game and he popped it back to continue the game. Kobe Bryant did the same in 2016 against San Antonio Spurs.

“Russell Westbrook says he dislocated his right pinky finger during the game tonight. He said the finger popped out of place twice and he had to pop it back in himself. X-rays taken after the game were negative, per Westbrook.” As tweeted by Dave McMenamin.

A recent stat has shown that LeBron James and Russell Westbrook are fitting fine with each other this season. “A stat I find fascinating: Cleaning the Glass says LeBron and Russ have a plus-7.5 net rating on the court together this season, which is good.”

“If you filter those minutes to just the 221 possessions with Thomas Bryant on the floor as well, the net rating jumps to plus-19.4.”
