Giannis Antetokounmpo’s free throw line routine has become a hot topic of controversy in the town

The Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks game on Friday night had a lot of activity obviously because of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s free-throw line routine. As per usual, Russell Westbrook made sure he was engaged in the fun, which included the Lakers guard getting physical with Giannis Antetokounmpo at one point when the latter was at the free-throw line.

After Russ was warned for a foul, the officials gave Giannis a second chance at a missed free shot. Westbrook made sure to inform the referees, as well as Antetokounmpo, of his displeasure with the call.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s free-throw technique has drawn a lot of criticism throughout the years. When the Bucks star was approaching the line a few years ago, the opposition crowd would start counting down.

By pressing Antetokounmpo to rush through his routine, the goal was to divert his attention. Giannis frequently exceeded the time restriction, which is 10 seconds on the line before a player is called for a violation.

But for the former back-to-back MVP, that hasn’t been the case lately. On Friday, Russell Westbrook made an effort to make a point, but it is obvious that Antetokunmpo needed only eight seconds to do his routine. And Giannis free throw line routine proved to be a success. Fans have been spreading memes and comment about all of the participants, even the referees, so there are hundreds of responses and reactions to provide for Westbrook’s countdown.
