Los Angeles Lakers star Russell Westbrook was bleeding after getting hit with a flagrant 2 foul

When Zach Collins made a hard foul on Russell Westbrook, the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs game on Saturday momentarily resembled a professional wrestling battle.

Zach Collins of the Spurs bit on a Westbrook pump fake with two minutes left in the third quarter of the Lakers vs SA Spurs game and then struck Westbrook with his elbow as he pulled his arms down to commit the foul.

An angry Russell Westbrook quickly jumped up off the ground and raced toward Collins to throw hands while bleeding heavily from his forehead before being stopped by LeBron James.

The situation took a few minutes to calm down and LeBron James played the protagonist to restrain a visibly agitated Westbrook. As cooler heads prevailed, the officials proceeded to review the play.

Collins was slapped with a Flagrant 2 foul, resulting in his ejection, while Westbrook received a technical foul for his reaction.

Westbrook didn’t immediately leave the game. He went to take on his free throws. Westbrook made one of two free throws before heading to the locker room for further medical examination.

Upon examination, Westbrook’s laceration did not require stitches and he re-entered the game early in the fourth quarter.

Furthermore, Westbrook finished the game with 11 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

Dennis Schroder also scored 21 points, while Lonnie Walker IV added 19 points.

On the other hand, Spurs put on a valiant effort but could not emerge victorious. Keldon Johnson scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Tre Jones hit 23 points and Devin Vassell added another 20.
