Home » NBA » “You can be 99 if Giannis is 100” – Shannon Sharpe takes aim at Kevin Durant questioning his rating in NBA 2K23

NBA 2k23 ratings were released recently and Kevin Durant wanted a 99 instead of his current rating of 96. At the same, Shannon disagrees and calls him behind the Greek Freak.

The most recent NBA 2K23 ratings weren’t well received by several stars, including Kevin Durant. Durant feels that he deserves to be given a score of 99 overall whereas he has got a decent score of 96.

Kevin Durant played good in the last regular season but ended up getting swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs. KD might be thinking that he is the star of the league but the stats says otherwise.

Kevin Durant is rated with league superstars LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Nikola Jokic at 96 while the only player rated higher than them is Bucks superstar Giannis.

Shannon considers Giannis Antetokounmpo the best in the league

Durant replied to his 2k rating tweet and expressed his thoughts that he should be given a 99. These remarks from KD attracted a lot of critics and fans who disagreed with him as he could not get past the first round in the last season.

At the same, Shannon made a point on Undisputed with Skip Bayless that Kevin’s point is baseless and Giannis should always be ranked above him in 2k ratings.

Shannon said, “Wait, let me tell you why you are not a 99. 99 players don’t get swept in the first round, that’s why you are not a 99.” He added, “You can be a 99 as long as Giannins a 100. Giannis is the best player in the NBA. 30-12-6.

Sharpe added to KD saying his ratings are laughable “Whatever grade you wanna give Kevin Durant, as long as Giannis is higher than that, I am cool with that.

KD needs and wants to win with the Nets

Fans also trolled KD for his remarks and told him that he needs super teams to win rings as his championships came with GSW firepower. Durant is hungry for a ring with the Nets and the fans are expecting a power-packed season from the star player.
