NBA analyst Shannon Sharpe has eviscerated the Los Angeles Lakers by saying that they have been the worst team in the whole of the NBA preseason.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ pre-season reached yet another low as they succumbed to a humiliating blowout defeat against the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. A tame performance by the Lakers saw the Kings overpower then by quite a margin as the hosts stormed to a 133-86 win over the visitors – exposing plenty of cracks in the Lakers’ average preseason.
The Lakers were not helped by the fact that they were missing Dennis Schröder in their backcourt owing to a broken finger, and while Russell Westbrook started on the bench for the first time since his rookie season in 2008/09 – his time on the court when he eventually came on was very short-lived as he pulled his left hamstring and had to limp off within the first quarter itself.
However, despite a depleted backcourt, the Lakers’ performance was inexplicably toothless and quite ominous if you are a Lakers fan. Darvin Ham’s side were on the backfoot right from the tip-off, and did not show any desire to turn the result in their favour – something that enraged many of their supporters – especially NBA analyst Shannon Sharpe who ripped into the performance.
What did Shannon Sharpe have to say about the Lakers’ preseason?
Shannon Sharpe ripped into the Lakers’ preseason and came up with a very ominous prediction for the Lakers’ regular season.
Sharpe took to his Twitter account to write about his frustrations about the Lakers’ performances. Sharpe wrote: “Ain’t no way I’m about to be staying up watching the Lakers bull jive this year. Don’t care it’s a preseason game. No other teams look this bad in the preseason. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬”
Sharpe’s complaints were valid as the Lakers came up with one of the most toothless performances one can ever see – a display that triggered doubts about whether the Lakers can find their way back into the Play-Offs after missing out last season.
