Shannon Sharpe was involved in a heated exchange with several Memphis Grizzlies players when the Los Angeles Lakers stole the show against them at home. As the NFL Hall of Famer Tight End was present to support LeBron James, Sharpe was in no mood to have any less energy as he got involved in an ugly verbal spat with Dillon Brooks and Steve Adams.
However, on the most recent episode of Undisputed, the NFL Hall of Famer Tight End revealed how Desmond Bane was overconfident. As per Sharpe, the Grizzlies sharpshooter told him how the Lakers vs Grizzlies game was over 10 seconds before Dennis Schroder stole the ball from him to make a game-winning play.
Shannon Sharpe revealed, “It was, like, 10 seconds before he got the ball stolen,” Sharpe said of when he made his comments to Desmond Bane. “He comes over, he looks dead in my eye, he said, ‘You know this game over.’ I say, ‘Either we’re gonna win it in regulation with LeBron [James] 3 or we’re gonna get you to overtime, but we’re winning this game.’”
For those who are not aware, Sharpe has never been a big fan of the verbality of Memphis Grizzlies’ players. Although, he has acknowledged the worthy effort shown by the young squad in the last season yet he was one of the first people in the NBA world to diss JA Morant for naming the Boston Celtics as the only team that he looks forward to contesting horns against.
The Memphis Grizzlies do seem to have a general problem where they talk a lot for a team that hasn’t achieved all that much yet. Talking smack only works out well if the players can back it up, and in this case, it would seem like Desmond Bane failed to do that. At the end of the day, it was Sharpe who finally gave LeBron James a hug after the Lakers ended their 11-game winning streak.
