Shaq O’Neal sent the NBA community on social media into meltdown after recently speaking about his cheating during a segment for Ime Udoka.
Shaquille O’Neal is widely regarded as one of the best players to ever step on a basketball court, as well as one of the best centers to ever exist in NBA history. While on the court, Shaq was known for combining size, speed and strength into one of the most feared specimens in the league, Shaq is never afraid to speak his mind off the court – even if it upsets some people.
Shaq gave another example of his cutthroat mouth when he spoke about his own experience of cheating while talking about Ime Udoka. The Boston Celtics’ coach who cheated on his fiancé with an unnamed female staff member and was suspended for breaching organizational guidelines has been trending – and Shaq has been the latest to give his two cents on the situation.
Speaking on The Big Podcast with Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams, an introspective and honest Shaq spoke about how he feels cheating ruined his life and lost him some of the most important years of his life – and how he feels that at the end of the day, cheating is not worth it.
What did Shaq say about his own cheating situation in the past?
Shaq was honest as ever as he spoke about the time when he cheated, and it ended up taking a toll on him and his family.
“I was a serial cheater… it would be crazy and blasphemous for me to sit up here and deny it. I am never the guy who would get up here because of my platform and fake it” said Shaq, as he also went on to say how much of a toll cheating took on his family. “I did it. I was the best at it and I’m not proud of it. I lost my family doing it. I lost valuable, important years of my children from doing it.”
Shaq added that the happiest days of his life was to come home and have his children talk to him, so when he lost his family – his 70,000 square feet mansion in Orlando seemed empty.
Shaq went on to conclude his monologue by saying that he hopes that the situation does not end up with Udoka losing his family, as it is a situation that Shaq is unfortunately very familiar with.
