Earlier this week, Shaquille O’Neal shared a picture of himself DJing in his younger days on his official DJing twitter account and fans have loved seeing the young Shaquille O’Neal as a DJ. He captioned the picture saying “It didn’t happen overnight.” Seemingly referring to the fact that he’s perfected his craft over the years while steadily building what has become a very large following.
Shaquille O’Neal started playing around with turn tables in his teenage years and continued through his NBA career, either playing alone or for a few of his friends. O’Neal only started playing in public when he retired from the NBA. He got his first taste of a festival when attended the music festival TommorowWorld in 2015.

The former NBA star is hooked to the feeling of attending shows as a fan and performing as DJ Diesel. On his DJ twitter handle, Shaq has even said that people can send in their music and if its good he would play it in his sets.
Shaq sells out shows and many fans would pay for the chance to see Shaquille O’Neal DJ. But according to reports Shaq is losing money on events that he because of the costs to ensure that the audio and visual effects are the best they can be.
Shaq spoke to Forbes in an interview in February and said this “My new business model is I invest in things that are going to change people’s lives. It costs me a lot of money to rent this building, security people, who cares?! I’ll probably make some money back, I’ll probably break even. I’d rather have that title – ‘Shaq had the best party ever.’”
It looks like DJ Diesel is more committed than ever to bring his music to people who enjoy it and create the greatest party atmosphere. So fans can rest easy and look forward to seeing Shaquille O’Neal DJ.
