Shaquille O’Neal was trending on Twitter once again as he did the LeBron James celebration after nailing down three one handed free throws at Shaqtoberfest.
Shaquille O’Neal is widely regarded as one of the best players to have ever stepped on a basketball court, as well as one of the best centers in NBA history. In his prime, the NBA Hall of Famer combined his size, speed, and strength into a profile that struck fear into his opponents’ hearts, but out of all the things that Shaq was extremely good at – he was not so good at one.
Shaq’s inability from the free throw line plagued him all his career, as the four-time NBA Championship winner struggled to net his free throws throughout a career that spanned nearly two decades. Over a 19-year-long NBA career, Shaq’s success rate from free throws was only 52.7% – meaning he netted only just over half of his free throws.
Shaq received plenty of criticism for his weakness throughout his career, but being the sport he is – he always saw the fun side of it. Shaq tapped into the fun side of his weakness once again as he took to free throws at Shaqtoberfest, but to his fans’ surprise – Shaq got all of his free throws spot on, that too with only one hand – in a video that has since gone viral on Twitter.
The video of Shaq that went viral on Twitter featured the NBA legend confront his weaknesses.
In the video that Shaq posted on his Twitter account titled “KEEP TALKING ABOUT MY FREE THROWS!! #Shaqtoberfest #Halloween”, Shaq was attending his self titled Shaqtoberfest – a Halloween fest organized by Shaq himself. The 7’1” former NBA superstar was taking part in a free throw competition where he nailed down every three single handedly (no pun intended).
Shaq nailed down all of the three pointers he attempted, and followed it up with a signature LeBron James celebration to celebrate his feat. The video went viral on Twitter in no time.
