Shaq’s ex wife has a heavy response as Shaquille O’Neal calls himself a “d***head”
Hall of Famer, Shaquille O’Neal spoke out about his marriage to Shaunie Henderson, admitting that their nine-year union ended because of his mistake.
“I was a d–khead. You don’t know how good you got something till it’s gone,” Shaquille said in a deep and personal No-Holds barred interview with the People.
Shaq recounted all the labor his ex-wife put into their relationship before the couple split. “She did exactly what she was supposed to do and gave me beautiful kids, take care of the house, take care of the corporate stuff. It was just all me. Sometimes, when you make a lot of mistakes like that, you can’t really come back from that.”
Notably, Shaq and Shaunie got married in 2002 and finalized their divorce in 2011. They share four children together.

As Shaq admitted his grave mistake, Big Diesel’s ex-wife, Shaunie Henderson had a great deal to say about Shaq calling himself a ‘d–khead.’
Shaunie Henderson is reportedly “happy” that former LA Lakers star Shaquille O’Neal is looking back and admitting his faults during their marriage.
“I am happy that he’s able to share the truth of how he feels. I don’t really have an opinion on it. That was so long ago. I am in a new place in life. What he needs to share for his truth is his truth and it is what it is,” she told in an interview with Page Six.
When asked if she felt ‘good’ about Shaq owning up to his part in their divorce, Shaunie went on to add, “I don’t need that validation. I’m pretty confident in who I am and what I’ve done. And what I’ve accomplished and what I’ve worked on to better myself. I don’t need somebody else’s validation to put my chest out. I feel my best right now in life.”
Furthermore, Shaunie added that she wants to move on from her former marriage.
“One thousand percent, I get tired of the ‘Shaq’ questions, yes,” she said. “I just don’t know if those questions are necessary almost 13 years later, you know what I mean? That was a time in my life… If you have any questions about Keion Henderson, you are more than willing to ask all day long, shoot!”
Notably, Shaunie is now married to Houston-based pastor, Keion Henderson. Shaunie and Keion got married at the Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club on May 28, 2022. After dating for two years, Shaunie and Keion got engaged in November 2021.
Also, to commemorate their love and marriage, Shaunie and Keion are donating a park on the island of Anguilla.
