Skip Bayless was loud and clear about his choice to pick Kevin Durant over LeBron James for a team in the present situation.
LeBron James and Kevin Durant are arguably the best two players of this generation. Both have competed against each other and dominated the entire league with their skillset.
LeBron James is a 4-time NBA Champion, while Kevin Durant is a 2-time NBA Champion. Even though KD doesn’t have the accolades like LeBron, he is still a great player and is considered the best player in the league currently.
Skip Bayless, a well-known FOX Sports analyst, stated that he would choose Kevin Durant over LeBron James right now to carry a franchise forward. He believes that KD is younger than LeBron, and every NBA GM would pick him over LeBron James.
Skip Bayless said, “If you gave every GM the option of Kevin Durant or LeBron James just for next year. We’re talking about going into next year, regardless of whether he’s going to pass Kareem.“
He added, “This isn’t about box office, this is about winning basketball games. Every one of them, how many of their 30; they would all vote for Kevin.”
Skip Bayless has always been a big advocate for Kevin Durant. He has always believed that KD is better than LeBron, and that is where he stands right now also. He thinks that Durant has a lot more left in his tank than LeBron because he is younger than him, and has played quite less than him.
He said, “He is four years younger than LeBron. He has played five fewer seasons because he missed a whole season because of his Achilles. Five fewer seasons, so he’s got much more tread on his tires, right.”
Skip added, “So last year, even though he was nicked, he had a career high in scoring, a career high in rebounds, and a career high in assists. I’d say he’s coming off a career year.”
Many general managers would choose Kevin Durant over LeBron James because he is younger and can play for a longer period of time than LeBron. However, with what we saw from LeBron last season, in year 18, you can’t count him out.
With KD handing in a trade request to the Brooklyn Nets, his departure is imminent. There is a strong possibility that he’ll end up in Phoenix to play alongside Devin Booker and CP3 for the Suns.
As a result, KD and LeBron could be a part of the same conference, and everyone is excited about it. LeBron might be joining forces with KD’s current teammate, Kyrie Irving, and the story just keeps on getting better.
With the arrival of Kyrie Irving, the Los Angeles Lakers will instantly become a title contender, and everyone is well aware of it. On the other hand, if KD joins the Suns, they might become the clear-cut favorites to win it all.
The Suns had the best record in the NBA last season. Devin Booker alongside KD and CP3 will be very lethal. Moreover, with the Clippers and Warriors going nowhere, the Western Conference is going to be very competitive next year.
Everyone is waiting for the trades of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to go through, as the league might change completely with where those two players land. Hopefully, it will get sorted out soon, and we’ll get a clearer picture.
