While Giannis Antetokounmpo is leading the current Kia NBA MVP race, sports media’s veteran personality – Skip Bayless reckons Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid to be way ahead of his. Moreover, he made his opinion loud and clear on Friday when Embiid dropped game-high 44 points against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Skip Bayless wrote in his tweet, “Sixers sure look like the best team in the East to me. Took the Clippers’ best shot, battled back, prevailed. Embiid>>>>Giannis/JTatum.”
For those who are unaware, Sixers were trailing by as many as 20 points in the first-half with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both playing at good pace. This is just when James Harden’s 21 assists came in handy, especially while supporting Joel Embiid in ensuring the comeback victory 119-114 on Friday in the Wells Fargo Center.
While Embiid has been averaging 33 points per game (23 games played this season), he has also improved his 3-Point efficiency from 33.8 to 34.2%. Moreover, his efficiency from the free throw line and field goal has also improved.
On the other hand, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been averaging 31.4 points, 11.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. With one game in hand, the Greek Freak has led the Milwaukee Bucks to the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference.
While both these big-men have been emphatic, the only supporting Skip Bayless opinion on Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid is the fact that Philadelphia 76ers are on a 7-game winning streak. The second longest winning streak behind Brooklyn Nets’ 8 game tally.
