Stephen Curry and his half-court shot magic has always filled the NBA fans with utmost excitement. The moment the ball leaves Steph’s hand for a half-court shot, it’s not only him but every person in the arena wishing to see magic turn into reality.
He is undoubtably considered the best three-point shooter in the NBA history. The shot against Boston Celtics in the 118-121 loss marked his 5th half-court shot. Skip Bayless was left impressed after the spectacular steel and shot by Steph Curry.
“STEPH!!! He stole the ball & launched from 10 feet beyond the half-court line & swished it at the halftime buzzer. It’s hard enough to 1-hand shoot the ball that far without throwing it, let alone to keep it on line and swish it without accidentally back-boarding it. Only Steph.”
Curry came into the NBA showing his ability to put in amazing shots, since the days playing college ball at Davidson. He is averaging 29.3 points per game in the 2022-23 season and he has averaged 3.8 three points per game.
Steph Curry has tied Jamal Crawford for the most half court shots
Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry already has the record for the most 3-pointers made of all-time (3,270). Many players fall back from the thought of shooting a half-court shot so as to keep their shooting percentage on point, but Steph is fearless in thus aspect.
Kevin Durant once told Yahoo Sports, “It depends on what I’m shooting from the field. First quarter if I’m 4-for-4, I let it go. Third quarter if I’m like 10-for-16, or 10-for-17, I might let it go. But if I’m like 8-for-19, I’m going to go ahead and dribble one more second.”
Warriors currently stands 6th in the Western Conference with a record of 23-23. After the Celtics defeat, they bounced back against the Cavaliers, 120-114. However, Curry did not enter the court, it was Jordan Poole who bagged the win for Warriors.
