Stephen A. Smith picks Jayson Tatum as he delivers his view on who should be starting the All-Star game this mid-season.
Stephen A. Smith thinks Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant has no place in the All-Star game as a starting player. Tatum should be the player to firmly hold that position, he feels. In the 2022-23 season, Jayson Tatum is averaging 30.8 points per game with 8.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists. On the other hand, Kevin Durant is averaging 29.7 points with 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists, per game.
Stephen A Smith discussed the Eastern Conference All-Star picks with Draymond Green on his show, The Volume. “I would have to remove KD. And that’s saying a lot from me,” he said, “Because I think when KD is healthy he is the best on the planet, and I think he’s the leading candidate for MVP.”
“Here’s why I’ll remove him. I can’t remove Joel Embiid because there’s ain’t a center on the planet, as far as I’m concerned, better than him, not particularly in the Eastern Conference,” he added that Joel Embiid is the greatest centre in the history of NBA, as per him.
Stephen A Smith reminds Draymond about Jayson Tatum’s Celtics sweeping Kevin Durant
“I can’t remove Giannis because that’s your power forward, who, by the way, is a champion and a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and is balling out, averaging 47 and 17 over the last three-to-six games or something.” Would you prefer Kevin Durant over Giannis Antetokounmpo? Nah!
Stephen A Smith reminds the fans about Boston Celtics performance against Brooklyn Nets in the last playoffs, “I can’t do that. Here’s where I can pick Tatum over KD. Similar stats but a better record. And by the way, the last time we saw y’all two against each other, Tatum swept you. That’s why.”
As per the latest voting results. LeBron James and Kevin Durant are leading in their respective conferences. James is coming out as the clear winner to captain the Western Conference. Whereas, Kevin Durant is facing a tough battle, as Giannis Antetokounmpo is just round the corner at 2nd.
Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving are leading the guards in their respective conferences.
