Kyrie Irving has missed a lot of games throughout the season due to vaccine mandates which have cost the Nets a lot
The Brooklyn Nets have struggled a lot throughout the season and that has been due to their star games missing the majority of games due to injuries and other things. They were the favorites to win the Championship prior to the start of the championship but now are struggling to even make the playoffs which is a huge disappointment on their part.
Kyrie Irving has been blamed the most for Brooklyn’s disappointing season of far because he has missed the most games due to the vaccine mandates which are now lifted but still the Nets are not looking good.
Famous ESPN Analyst Stephen A Smith went off on Kyrie Irving on First Take and said, “You were willing to cost your team the season, They are there because of you.”, as he signifies that if the mandates wouldn’t have lifted Kyrie wouldn’t have been able to play in the home games till now and in the future because he didn’t want to get vaccinated.
He said that the Nets are in this terrible position because of him, as he missed so many games and caused James Harden to seek a trade in order to get a better opportunity to have a run towards the championship.
Stephen A Smith further said, “It’s about the chip and I take very big offense to that.”, as he thinks Kyrie should have gotten vaccinated just like all his teammates did because they wanted to win a Championship together at Brooklyn.
He claimed that Kyrie is among the leaders of the team just like Kevin Durant and he should be showing all his heart and commitment to this team to set an example for his teammates in order to win the Championship which is the main goal of any franchise in the NBA.
The Nets will now look to salvage their season as they hope to make the playoffs via the play-in tournament which will be a very tough task for them as the teams around them are also playing really well.
