It was a brilliant season for the Golden State Warriors last season. Not only did they win their fourth NBA Championship, but they did it comfortably – but according to the ways of a league as competitive and constantly evolving as the NBA, resting on your laurels is not an option. And that is exactly why the Warriors are back: all guns blazing for the next season.
The Golden State Warriors started their pre-season training ahead of the upcoming season. The defending champions will look to defend their Championship this season, and the preparations have already started as Steve Kerr put the team through their paces. And it is some of the usual suspects who began the preseason as the standout performers in the routine.
The Warriors will begin their NBA season in the Western Conference against Washington Wizards on 30th October, and as we are rapidly approaching the beginning of their title defense–it is necessary that Kerr, a four time NBA champion as a coach, brings all his players to top game fitness. And the Warriors have done exactly that, although some have impressed more than the others.
Who are the ones that impressed more than the others?
According to sources, there are a few players who dominated the preseason routine.
According to ESPN’s Kendra Andrews, head coach Steve Kerr said that the first day of the new preseason camp was a “heavy load” day. As for the particular names who stood out in the routine, it comes across as no surprise that the likes of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green were some of the Warriors’ best performers – also including Kevin Looney as a standout performer.
In fact, Kerr said that all the starters from last season’s Championship winning team – meaning it would add Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole to the mix – have started the preseason on a dominant note.
The news certainly bids well for GSW fans as they can hope for their best stars to give it their all for yet another season.
