The film offers a quick glimpse at NBA superstar Stephen Curry’s extraordinary upbringing at tiny Davidson College, where the team made an exciting roll in the 2008 NCAA tournament under the guidance of coach Bob McKillop. Curry will be available during the 2021 NBA season as the movie follows the Golden State Warriors’ quest for a second title after one of their worst seasons in team history.

With close-up cinematic film, archival material, and on-camera interviews, the documentary recounts Curry’s journey from an average college player to a four-time NBA champion. Curry is one of the most impactful, dynamic, and unpredictable players in basketball history.

What is the documentary ‘Stephen Curry: Underrated’ all about?

In ‘Stephen Curry: Underrated’, Curry struggles to balance the pressures of his professional life with his promise to his mother, which he made when he left Davidson early to enter the NBA, that he would finish college.

In order to tell the remarkable tale of a young man who developed from a diminutive and unnoticeable high school basketball player to an NBA icon, Nicks skillfully interweaves the similarities he discovers between Curry in video footage from both his early years as an athlete and his later years as a professional basketball player.
