Stephen Curry started a celebration in the NBA playoffs that caught everyone’s eyes. It was the ‘night-night’ celebration. Curry did that against every team that he faced in the playoffs.
Whenever the Golden State Warriors closed out a series in their rin toward the NBA championship, Stephen Curry pulled that celebration. Everyone started imitating him, and it became viral.
Moreover, Curry is doing that celebration everywhere he goes. He did that in the championship parade and during his golf tournaments in the offseason as well.
Recently a video went viral, in which a child imitated the night-night celebration. The kid scored and laid down on the court to do the celebration. He took it to the next level, and Stephen Curry reacted to that video with this tweet. LeBron James also tweeted out and said, “You see what you started!!”
Stephen Curry didn’t originate the ‘night-night’ celebration
Despite making the celebration popular, it wasn’t Stephen Curry who started the night-night celebration. Many players across various sports have been doing it for a long time.
Dele Alli, a former Tottenham Hotspurs player, is one of them. He is well known for his unique celebrations. He also did the ‘night-night’ celebration back in 2019. He laid down on the ground after scoring a goal and did it. Since then, many people have done this celebration, but credit Curry for making it popular worldwide.
