Stephen Curry has proven to be one of the leaders in the points-per-game increase stat this season even despite the Golden State Warriors’ struggles.
The Golden State Warriors have had a major disappointment of a season so far. The defending champions would have hoped to start the season on a strong note despite a controversial preseason that hampered their momentum going into the season, but it has been just the start that they did not want – as they currently sit 11th in the Western Conference with an 8-10 record.
While there has been a general drop in the team’s performances, it would be fair to say that Steph Curry is performing at the level that he performs. The talismanic guard has been having an incredible season despite the lack of support, as he currently averages 32.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game this season despite the Warriors’ troubled start to the season.
Curry has been having an incredible season even by his own standards, and that is saying something considering the Warriors superstar is arguably the greatest shooter of all time. In fact, Curry is outscoring last season’s tally where he helped the Warriors win the title and also won the Finals MVP – and has put up one of the highest points-per-game increases this season.
The star showing the highest points-per-game increases in the NBA this season recently surfaced, and it was a surprise to see Curry up there knowing the form he was in last season. However, Curry is simply in a different element this season, as he is averaging 32.3 points per game this season – a 6.8 points-per-game increase over his tally of 25.5 last season.
Who else are featured on the highest points-per-game increases graphic besides Stephen Curry?
Along with Curry, the highest points-per-game increase for this season also features Devin Vassell, Lauri Markannen and Desmond Bane.
While Devin Vassell has put up the highest increase in his points-per-game tally from last season with a difference of +8.1, Lauri Markannen and Desmond Bane have also had significant improvements in their shooting form with differences of +7.5 and +6.5 respectively.
It is certainly surprising to see someone of the calibre and talent of Stephen Curry still improve at the highest level, but the Warriors star keeps outdoing himself.
