Golden State Warriors were hit with two late technical fouls but Stephen Curry is okay with picking up the fine
The Golden State Warriors had a blowout win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night. Warriors convincingly won the game 137-114 but the best moment of the game came in the dying minutes of the fourth quarter.
Stephen Curry and Draymond Green lead by example. Their bonding is immaculate, and it shows now and then when both assume leadership when needed. They both displayed how they got each other’s back on Sunday night.
What happened late in the fourth quarter of the game between Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves?
With just 90 seconds remaining on the clock, GSW’s Jordan Poole hit a jelly layup. Naturally, it invoked reactions from the Warriors bench.
To celebrate Poole’s layup, Draymond Green walked onto the court to show his appreciation. As Green walked onto the court, he was hit with a technical foul by the officials.
A technical foul to Draymond Green for just celebrating a play!
Then less than a minute later, Donte DiVincenzo splashed a 3-pointer. Stephen Curry came off the bench near the opposing basket to celebrate after the 3-pointer was made.
In the most random act, Steph was seen wildly waving a towel and was slapped with a technical foul.
Looks like Curry was trying to prove a point and pretty soon Steph’s intentions were revealed. He was intentionally mocking the officials and was trying to send a message.
In the postgame conference, Draymond talked about the incident and appreciated Curry for having his back.
“Absolutely,” Green told in the conference. “100 percent.”
Green also explained what the referees said to him. “They told me I was at the lane line,” Green said. “I thought I was standing in the corner, so I don’t know. Sucks though. It’s the NBA man. Your teammates make a good move. I didn’t affect the play, like, there’s no one near me. Sucks. And the fact that that’s going to count, come on…It’s ridiculous. But whatever. It is what it is.”
Stephen Curry had a hilarious take on his and Draymond’s technical foul and fine
Stephen Curry’s mockery of referees might earn him a technical foul but he does not care. He showed that he is a team player and will always have Green’s back. Curry’s ‘waving towel’ celebration also sent a clear message to the referees.
After the game, Stephen Curry put out a hilarious tweet featuring his and Green’s technical fouls. It also had the ‘Bad Boys’ theme music playing.
Steph Curry has now gathered three technical fouls in total. He is fined $2,000 for each technical foul.
