The Golden State Warriors are in the 11th place in the Western Conference standings with Stephen Curry yet to return. Given that the defending champions are one of the worst on-road teams, the absence of the 3-Point King will only be haunting their playoff aspirations. Having suffered a left shoulder injury earlier in the month of December, there were reports confirming his tenure on the sidelines to be at least 3-4 weeks.

However, re-analyzing Stephen Curry’s injury, Golden State Warriors released an update on their superstar’s health on Saturday. When Steve Kerr’s side locked horns against the Memphis Grizzlies, the same team they knocked out of the playoffs in the previous playoffs, Curry joined the broadcast team to talk about his progression.

“Every day it’s getting better,” Curry said as per Sports Ilustrated. “I’m hoping it’s as close to that two week as possible. It gives me time for that five-on-five rehab.”

When will Stephen Curry return?

If Stephen Curry comes back in the next two weeks, he will be featuring in the Warriors’ game against the Orlando Magic on January 7th, at the earliest. If at that time, the reigning NBA Finals MVP cannot return, he will more likely feature against the Phoenix Suns on January 10th.

With Steph out, the Warriors have scored to point consistently. Moreover, the likes of Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole have failed to register big-number games. Perhaps they need to step up before it gets too late for them.

That being said, it is important to know that while Curry’s return is of course dependent on his progression, that process seems to be going well, as the star point guard said his injured left shoulder is improving each day. But Steve Kerr and his players should be prepared for the worst-case scenario as well.
