Stephen Curry reacted with a loving response as Frances Tiafoe thanked the NBA legend for spending time with him.

Stephen Curry is widely regarded as one of the best basketball players in the game right now, and his widespread influence all over the world also helps his argument to be a regular feature in the conversation for the greatest players of all time. However, apart from his incredible ability on the basketball court, Curry is also famous for being a humble guy who is fun to chill with.

Curry proved his reputation as just another guy next door when spending time off the basketball court when he met American tennis player Frances Tiafoe. The Golden State Warriors superstar is currently in Japan as a part of the pre-season only days before they begin their season, and he met Frances Tiafoe – who has developed a growing reputation as one of America’s top young athletes.

Tiafoe made all the headlines in the recently concluded US Open, as he went deep into the Grand Slam tournament with a run that lasted until the semi-finals. Even though he lost the semifinal to eventual winner Carlos Alcaraz, his run consisted of a major scalp in Rafael Nadal and made him a household name in the American sports community – even at a relatively young age of 24.

As it turns out, Tiafoe was also in Japan to take part in the 2022 Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships, and the two ended up sharing a chat. Curry’s Warriors were going up against the Washington Wizards in the Saitama Super Arena, and Tiafoe was one of the sport personalities in attendance – but it was really his interaction with Curry that made the night special for him.

What was the pair’s interaction all about?

The tennis star spoke with Curry and demonstrated the reigning NBA Finals MVP’s trademark ‘Night, Night’ celebration, which he called “one of the coldest cellys I’ve seen” in a Twitter post.

I got to meet Steph Curry last night, which was great” Tiafoe said. “He’s one of my idols. Him acknowledging what he saw and saying he’s proud of me for the US Open was pretty special. You’re never going to forget things like that.

A flattered Curry took to his Instagram to acknowledge Tiafoe, as he posted a story saying “All love, my guy” – and the interaction went viral on both NBA and tennis Twitter.
