Steve Nash clears the air on the Kevin Durant trade request and says that it’s all over now with the NBA superstar seeming driven

In an interview with Malika Andrews, Steve Nash opened up on the Kevin Durant trade request and its aftermath. Nash has said that both Durant and the Brooklyn Nets have moved past the issue. Steve went on to say that he’s excited about moving forward. Durant has reportedly been exceptional in practice, bringing a great attitude and focus to training camp.

According to Nash, he and Durant had a short conversation to discuss their feelings on the issue and have since moved past it. If true, this is a fantastic thing for the Brooklyn Nets’ chances to win an NBA title this year.

Nash further mentioned that the whole team was hurting and that excessive injuries have stood in the way of their playoff success. The team has since gotten over the disappointment and is focused on the upcoming NBA season.

In his Brooklyn Nets Media Day Press Conference Kevin Durant answered questions regarding his trade request and why he did it. Durant explained that he was unsure about the future of the franchise due to how the 2021-22 NBA season ended. He mentioned that he was unhappy with how the team had performed and that he was getting older and had his future to think about.

Durant went on to explain why he rescinded his trade request. Kevin mentioned that he’d had discussions with Nets owner Joseph Tsai, Nets GM Sean Marks and Head Coach Steve Nash. After discussing the situation and working out what they wanted, the issue was solved quickly.

Durant decided to stay because he wants to compete and decided that Brooklyn is the best place to do it. The Nets have built a good team around him this year and look ready to win a championship.
