Witnessing Draymond Green retire would be very difficult as Green is that sort of a player one would anticipate to spend their whole playing career with one team. Green has been a dedicated part of the Golden State Warriors since being selected in the 2012 NBA Draft, A great distinction for any player, Green has been referred to as the engine of a team that has won four titles in eight seasons.

Although most people would never have imagined seeing Draymond Green retire, there have been whispers that he would join the Lakers. Although he has made it clear that he wants the Warriors to offer him a maximum contract. The speculation has intensified because of his growing connection with LeBron James and his confrontation with Jordan Poole.

In the midst of all of this, Green spoke with Marc J. Spears of Andscape about the prospect of retiring as a Warrior.

“It’s incredible when you look at the amount of guys who’ve played for only one team. You can look around the NBA right now……There are five guys that’s been on a team for 11 years-plus. We have three of them [along with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson]. It’s a very rare thing.”, Green said. Green’s comments seem positive; he enjoys being a part of the Warriors. However, Draymond is as shrewd and intelligent as they come, so the other things he stated could suggest some scepticism.

Although it appears that he is not discussing much about the Lakers, eventually, it will come up in conversation. The Golden State Warriors will always be associated with him regardless of whether Draymond Green retire with the club or not until his retirement. It would be strange to see him play for the Lakers, but it would also be the most fascinating thing ever.
