Jayson Tatum responds to his viral photo with Kevin Durant
Jayson Tatum has finally responded to the reaction that the viral photo of him training with Kevin Durant garnered this off season, as he justified it by saying that “they exaggerate everything I do.”
/It is difficult to be Jayson Tatum’, as admitted by none other than Jayson Tatum himself. The Boston Celtics forward went under the spotlight and attracted a lot of criticism when he was spotted working out with Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant in the off season in Los Angeles, and Tatum responded to his detractors in style.
The picture in discussion was one that features the pair training alongside each other in the City of Angels, but the timing fuelled plenty of speculation as it was posted amidst trade rumours of Durant going to Celtics.
WHAT DID TATUM HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT?
Speaking to Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, the 24-year-old voiced his opinion about people exaggerating everything that he does.
Tatum said that he has known Durant since high school, played with the Nets superstar in the United States of America national team – having spent five weeks with Durant last year as they went from Las Vegas to Tokyo to win the Olympics gold medal in basketball.
“If one of the best players in the world, one of the best players ever, wants to work out with you, and I can learn some things from him, why would I say no?” Tatum also added: “If you worry too much about what other people are thinking, you will drive yourself crazy,” and finished his justification by saying that they were just working out together, “trying to get better.”
It is yet to be seen where Kevin Durant ends up this summer after asking for a trade in order to boost his chances of winning a first NBA Championship ring, and there is a very outcome that he ends up lining up for the Celtics with his training mate and friend Tatum by his side.
