“This is better than WWE” – Skip Bayless brings up decade-old feud as Patrick Beverley is set to join LeBron James’ Lakers

Patrick Beverley is set to join LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers in a trade that has seen the NBA community on social media erupt, and Skip Bayless added his two cents too.

Patrick Beverley’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers will also unite him with Lakers superstar Russell Westbrook after a decade-old feud, and renowned NBA analyst Skip Bayless provided his opinion on the move with his tweet that went viral on the platform within next to no time.

Bayless tweeted on his official Twitter account earlier today: “Pat Bev to the Lakers? The bad blood between him and Westbrook dates back a decade. And now he’ll take some of Westbrook’s minutes? This is better than WWE. It’s now “SideShowtime.”

The tweet went viral in no time, as many fans shared the sentiment of the analyst. The Utah Jazz point guard coming to the City of Angels to play alongside James and one of his archrivals in Russell Westbrook definitely reignites the context of their beef, which goes back to 10 years ago.

WHAT IS THE RIVALRY BETWEEN BEVERLEY AND WESTBROOK?

The animosity between the pair dates back to a decade when Beverley injured Westbrook in the first round of the 2013 Play-Offs.

Many on-court altercations followed since their first meeting until the broth finally ran over when Westbrook dropped a quote on Beverley “doing nothing and just running around”. The beef continued with the pair taking shots at each other on Twitter.

Even last season when the Timberwolves met the Lakers, Beverley got into an on-court altercation with King James and visibly called Westbrook “trash” even stinking up his face and covering his nose to prove his point.

That Westbrook will have to be teammates with a long-time rival is almost synonymous with a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) storyline, where two rivals often join forces in an interesting match-up.

It is yet to be seen whether Westbrook continues with the Lakers amidst rumours of him leaving, but for now it seems like he will share a dressing room with Beverley when the season tips off in October.
