The Minnesota Timberwolves wasted two draft picks in 2009, and didn’t draft Stephen Curry which could have changed their franchise.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are well known for making blunders in free agencies and the drafts. One of their biggest draft blunders was in 2009. They had two picks in the first six spots of that draft.

With those two picks, they drafted Ricky Rubio at the 5th overall spot and drafted J.Flynn with the 6th overall pick. The player that got drafted at 7th was none other than Stephen Curry. The Golden State Warriors got the golden opportunity of getting Curry with the 7th overall pick and they didn’t hesitate.

Drafting Curry revamped the Warriors franchise. Fast forward to 13 years from that draft, Curry is a 4-time NBA Champion and is the leader of the Warriors dynasty that has been dominating the NBA for the past 8 years.

On the other hand, the Minnesota Timberwolves haven’t achieved anything major in that span, and are often criticized for skipping on Stephen Curry. Here are the best fan reactions to the blunder that the T-Wolves made in the 2009 NBA Draft.
