Steph Curry, the point player for the Golden State Warriors, has been selected Sportsperson of the Year by Sports Illustrated for 2022. After finishing the 2021–22 season with an average of 25.5 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.2 rebounds per game, Curry won his fourth NBA championship.
He reserved his finest performance for the NBA Finals, helping the Golden State Warriors defeat the Boston Celtics in six games with 31.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. The NBA Finals MVP stood out for scoring 43 points and pulling down 10 rebounds in Game 4 before finishing off the Boston Celtics’ in Game 6.
Curry and the Warriors, who had just finished a league-worst 15-50 in 2019–20, had made an incredible comeback. Due to a fractured left hand, Curry missed all except five of the games that season.
