The Toronto Raptors have joined the race to trade for Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, as a move edges closer.
Kevin Durant had unexpectedly made the decision to submit a trade request to the Brooklyn Nets. This came after Kyrie Irving chose to enter the final year of his deal with the Brooklyn Nets a few days prior.
When it was anticipated that Kyrie Irving would be departing the team, the future of Durant was in doubt, but things became clearer when Irving would be returning to Brooklyn.
The entire NBA community has been startled by KD’s trade request. It will be intriguing to watch where Durant ends up because nearly every team will be interested in signing him.
A team that is slowly heading in the positive direction to land Durant is the Toronto Raptors. They are heavily interested in trading for him, and they have good assets as well.
This might be another Kawhi Leonard scenario where the Raptors went all-in to get him, and that helped them to win a championship.
Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat are also in the mix to bring in Kevin Durant
The Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns are in the driver’s seat in the pursuit of Durant. KD has indicated that they are his top two picks for a new team, and if he joins either of them, he can immediately win the championship the next year.
However, both these teams will need to give away a lot of assets in order to acquire KD. This trade has the potential to be the biggest trade in the history of the NBA. Everyone is excited to see where Kevin Durant will eventually end up next season.
