Trae Young and Kyrie Irving shared a warm moment after the Brooklyn Nets edged past Atlanta Hawks 108-107 to register their 10th consecutive win of the 2022-23 season, going 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference. Both the mentioned players were seen hugging it out after the final buzzer sounded after which the reigning All Star defended Irving.
One after the other Kyrie Irving has come into the spotlight for having rigid stances. Initially his stance of Covid-19 vaccine and how abruptly he decided to not get vaccinated despite his team’s struggles. After which his support of Anti-Semitic content made his come under the scanner of criticism.
While Trae didn’t feature in the Nets vs Hawks contest due to calf concussion he had previously suffered against the Indiana Pacers, he was there to cheer on for his team as the Brooklyn Nets came from behind to win the contest by a whisker.
While it’s still not known to the media or public what Kyrie Irving said to Trae Young when they hugged each other following Brooklyn Nets’ 10th consecutive win but the Atlanta Hawks marquee made sure to show his appreciation and support for his fellow playmaker. On Twitter, he retweeted their viral moment and captioned it with, “Some don’t even understand the type of dude he is.. Real ones do!”
It seems like the turmoil of criticism has finally ended with Irving as he seems to be finally focusing more on basketball. With the result out for all of us to praise, will this be the year when Irving gets his redemption? Remains to be seen.
