The MVP race is coming towards its final contenders and Tristan Thompson feels the Boston Celtics star will make the cut.
The last 4 MVP awards have gone in the direction of European players. The international players have started taking over but the American players have kept them under tough competition. Nikola Jokic is the front runner to take home his 3rd consecutive Most Valuable Player award, but Tristan Thompson feels this year is going to be about Jason Tatum.
Tristan blurted out his MVP pick when he stopped by at NBA Today, “Everyone’s talking about Jokic, but I’m gonna go Jayson Tatum. Two-time MVP Jokic, time to switch it up. My man JT, gotta give it to him. Come on, now.”
Tristan Thompson has played alongside LeBron James in Cleveland Cavaliers. He even added, “If the Lakers and LeBron can go 8 and 10 and get to the 6 to 7 seed, he is gotta be in the MVP conversation.”
Tristan Thompson picks Jayson Tatum as his 2023 MVP for the season
Tristan Thompson and LeBron James have celebrated the 2016 NBA championship together. Albeit Tristan’s take on the debate for LeBron James was not futile. If James manages to fight for the championship with the team performances, the Lakers have put up. He would indeed establish his case.
Although, LeBron James is going to break the all-time scoring records put up by Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Giving him the MVP award would be quite a stretch for the league. Therefore, Tristan Thompson’s first take was Jayson Tatum.
Jared Weiss tweeted, “Back-to-back threes for Jayson Tatum and he’s already at 34 points, just 3 minutes into the second half. Spo was pissed at the first one then called timeout after the second. Heat’s 2-point deficit blown up in an instant.”
“There’s been a few game management nuances that has catapulted Tatum to the front of the MVP race this year as he starts to hit prime form. One of the biggest is his feel for the moments in the game when he should go iso and put up heat checks, plus how to do it less predictably.”
