Miami Heat’s visit to Atlanta Hawks as part of doubleheader matchup was dominated by Tyler Herro
Miami Heat was playing without their star players in their recent match against the Atlanta Hawks. And Hawks had a slight advantage over them despite playing without Clint Capela. But Tyler Herro proved to be the difference-maker in the game.
The Heat entered the game having the 3rd best record in the East, while Atlanta Hawks had a sub-par season so far. In spite of missing out on influential players in different matches, the Heat players were able to grab wins with total team-play.
The game against Atlanta Hawks was similar for the Heat team, as Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Victor Oladipo were sidelined due to various injuries. Also, Morris was serving the NBA Covid-19 protocol.
Tyler Herro was the star performer of the game. He scored a game-high 21 points, coming off the bench. Also, he provided 11 assists grabbing 9 rebounds in the game. This could have been his 1st ever triple-double performance in his career. With his form and play in the game, Herro clocked most minutes on the court even more than any Heat-starter.
Caleb Martin scored 18 points in Heats 115-91 win against the Hawks.
Trae Young‘s scoring trouble continued as he managed just 15 points in the game, but John Collins produced a double-double performance scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Hawks. Bogdan Bogdanovic and De’Andre Hunter also managed to score 15 points each.
Tyler Herro is 6th man of the season
Herro had a great 2020 year with heavy performances in the post-season. But suddenly his form and shooting percentage dropped in the very next season, raising questions about his consistency. 2022 season was important for his career, as to perform or get-traded situation.
But Herro’s performance improved and proved vital in the team’s current run. He is their 2nd top scorer with a 20+ point average. Also, he has 4 assists and 5 rebounds per game making a strong case for the 6th man of the season award.
Montrezl Harrell and Kelly Oubre Jr are other close candidates for the award but no one seems to be beating Herro’s current stats.
