HomeSports NewsUndrafted rookie Kenny Lofton Jr. is impressing everyone in the Summer League

Kenny Lofton Jr. had a great game for the Memphis Grizzlies against Chet Holmgreen and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Memphis Grizzlies have got a gem of a player in Kenny Lofton Jr. He went undrafted in the draft but has been showing a lot of promise in the summer league.

So far, he has played quite well, and maybe he can end up in the G-league or even the Grizzlies’ roster. However, all of that is still quite far away, but there is no denying his talent.

He went toe-to-toe against Chet Holmgreen and the OKC and dominated the 2nd overall pick on the offensive end. Kenny Lofton Jr. needs to get better on the defensive end but with time, he’ll get his body right and will be able to do that also. He has a similar playstyle to Zion Williamson, and if he can get anywhere near the talent that Zion has, he is going to have a good career in the NBA.

OKC’s beat writer gave his analysis on why Kenny Lofton Jr. dominated Chet Holmgreen on the offensive end

Oklahoma City Thunder’s beat writer Brandon Rahbar gave his analysis on why Kenny Lofton Jr. was able to dominate Chet Holmgreen on the offensive end.

He said, Kenny Lofton Jr. is the same height and weight as Zion Williamson. Saying Chet will struggle in some matchups due to his weight is fair… but a dude who weighs the same as Aaron Donald and plays basketball the same way as Aaron Donald plays football is an outlier.

Brandon Rahbar is certainly right. A player of Kenny’s size can cause a lot of problems for many players in the league. He is going to dominate many players on the post with his bully ball, which is why he could be a great asset for the Grizzlies going forward.
