Steve Kerr opened up on the struggles of Draymond Green and also told why he was benched in the 4th quarter of Game 4.

The NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics are currently tied at 2-2. Stephen Curry is leading the race to win the Finals MVP because he has been leading his team from the front. His teammates have not been consistent throughout the finals.

Draymond Green’s performance in the NBA Finals has been absolutely abysmal. He himself is very well aware of the fact that he has been a liability for his team on the offensive side of the game.

His head coach Steve Kerr spoke to the media regarding his form in the NBA finals. Kerr also told why he benched Draymond Green in the 4th quarter of the Game 4 of the NBA finals in Boston.

Kerr said, “This is a huge test for him, this series, From an emotional standpoint. A little bit like OKC back in ’16, a little bit like Memphis early in the playoffs this year. Certain matchups make things tough for him to score inside and run pick-and-roll, and that’s OK. It’s just a matter of figuring it out and doing whatever you have to do.”

Everyone is well aware of the fact that Boston’s defense is the best in the league. They are a strong physical side, and they are causing problems for Draymond Green. Steve Kerr also believes the same.

Kerr further talked about Draymond and said, “This is a series where [Green] can’t conduct the offense from the top of the key, Boston just switches everything, blows a lot of stuff up. So we’re running predominantly pick-and-roll all night because that’s our best way of attacking them. They know it and we know it.”

Draymond Green will certainly look to bounce back in game 5, as it will be played on the Warriors’ home court. It will be a good opportunity for the Warriors to take the lead for the first time in the series.
