Things seemed to have haywire between shorthanded Miami Heat’s veteran Dewayne Dedmon and coach Erik Spoelstra as they got into a heated altercation on the team bench on Tuesday Night against Oklahoma City Thunder. While stars like Bam Adebayo, Kyle Lowry, and Tyler Herro were all sidelined, Spoelstra’s decision to sue Dedmon went in vain as he was ejected for throwing a massage gun on the court.
After the ejection as coach Erik Spoelstra was inquired upon any rumored beef or heated words he had with Dedmon, the 2-time NBA Championship-winning coach had a hilarious response that pretty much-left everyone with a smile.
TNT reporter Stephanie Ready asked about what happened between him and Dewayne, to which Erik cracked a light joke saying that these kinds of outbursts on the Miami Heat bench are nothing new.
“That’s a regular Tuesday night with the Miami Heat,” Spoelstra said, with a wry smile plastered on his face. “We’re in a one-point game and we have some skirmishes on the bench.”
Coach Erik Spoelstra is right in that this is becoming a regular occurrence for the Heat. To make everyone aware this isn’t the first heated altercation on the Miami heat bench involving the coach. In a memorable row between head coach and star player, Spoelstra had also engaged in a public verbal argument with Jimmy Butler. This resulted is Udonis Haslem coming out to publicly side with the coach.
