Watch the hilarious throwback to when Stephen Curry and Patrick Mahomes impersonated each other in their respective golf tournaments.
Stephen Curry is often the subject of an unexpected crossover or two. The Golden State Warriors superstar often links up with a superstar or two from a different sport or two over the course of the year, and he has done so once again as he linked up with American football superstar Patrick Mahomes – albeit this time, the linkup was not in person with the two under the same roof.
Curry made the news as part of a sporting crossover once again as he impersonated American football superstar Patrick Mahomes in a recent golf tournament, with Mahomes returning the favour as well. It was in the final round of the celebrity American Century Championship golf tournament when Curry channeled his inner mimicry artist, and impersonate Mahomes.
In the final round of the American Century Championship golf tournament, Curry grabbed hold of a football somehow and hilariously did his best impression of the Kansas City Chiefs superstar. Curry took a snap, rolled to his left, avoided a defender and stutter-stepped and spun around another phantom tackler before tossing a Mahomes-like pass to a fan in the crowd.
Even though the fan in the crowd tragically dropped the ball, the clip made the rounds on social media as Curry impersonated his compatriot of a different sport. However the impersonation was a response to a mimicry act that Mahomes pulled on Curry only a day prior.
Mahomes’ impersonation of Curry only a day prior set the tone for Curry to follow his lead.
Only a day prior to Curry’s impersonation, Mahomes impersonated Curry by swishing a shot from deep in the tee box – and Curry’s impersonation was only a response to that.
The pair’s interaction racked up major headlines as it meant that Curry had linked up with yet another superstar of a different sporting world – and successfully as we might add.
